Darius the Great (Darius I) is to be credited as the first Achaemenid king to invest in a Persian fleet. داريوس الكبير (داريوس الأول) هو أن يُنسب إليه باعتباره الملك الأخميني الأول الذي يستثمر في الأسطول الفارسي.
Darius the Great proclaimed himself victorious in all battles during the period of upheaval, attributing his success to the "grace of Ahura Mazda". أعلن داريوس الكبير نفسه منتصرا في كل المعارك خلال فترة الاضطرابات، عازيا نجاحه إلى "نعمة أهورا مازدا".
The invasion, consisting of two distinct campaigns, was ordered by the Persian king Darius the Great primarily in order to punish the city-states of Athens and Eretria. وتتكون الغزوة من حملتين مميزتين، والذي أمر بها الملك الفارسي داريوس الأول من أجل معاقبة المينتان أثينا وأريتريا.
